Notes Left Behind is a bi-weekly publication. Part confession, part compass for fellow creators navigating the beautiful chaos — background music often included
Astrologically, it’s said that my zodiac sign represents structure and organization. While I don’t know much about the stars, I know I thrive when I have a plan in place.
Sometimes, though, that structure can also feel suffocating.
From November through December (and then throughout January), I tend to move much more slowly. I spend less time online and away from screens (outside of work). Maybe it’s the drop in temperature or the anticipation of newness in the coming weeks. Whatever it is, I try to be patient with myself—just as you, dear reader, have been patient and stuck around during the absence of a few editions.
Whenever you’re reading this, I want to thank you. NLB wouldn’t stand a chance of existing without you. I love hearing your feedback about how much something resonated with you or sparked a new idea. It’s a pleasant reminder that we’re never truly “alone” in our experiences, and there’s always someone who can benefit from exactly what we’re discovering right now.
Looking ahead to 2025, I'd love to hear more from you. If you can take some time to fill out this short survey it would mean a lot, the work I’m doing and the community I hope to cultivate.
Additionally, starting in February, I’ll be testing out a new day for publishing – Wednesdays. It’s right in the middle of the week, I know. Based on the data so far, most readers tend to prefer looking at the depths of their (already full) inboxes during the weekdays, I get it. So I’ll give it a try and see how it works in the long run.
Until next time,
J
